The Gift of Self-Care
Taking time for yourself is important, otherwise trying to balance your regular responsibilities with holiday get-togethers and all the additional flurry of activity that the holiday season brings can leave you feeling depleted and anxious. If you prioritize your needs, you will be able to handle everything more easily. This includes responding appropriately to your body’s signals so that you can keep feeling your best.
“Be kinder to yourself. And then let your kindness flood the world.”
Pema Chodron
Rest when you are tired, only eat when you are hungry, don’t overschedule yourself, stop trying to ensure perfection, and make sure that you are having fun. If you’re not having fun, then that’s a clue that something needs to change so you don’t end up exhausted, sick, and miserable. During the next couple of weeks, make it a priority to give yourself the one gift you can’t live without: the gift of self-care.
“Nourishing yourself in a way that helps you blossom in the direction you want to go is attainable, and you are worth the effort.”
Deborah Day
