Aligning Thoughts with Intentions and Actions

How have you been doing with your intentions so far this year? Have you been focusing on your intentions or have you become sidetracked already? If you’re making progress, no matter how little, good for you! Keep going and the momentum will become unstoppable. If you’ve slacked off, no worries; you can just start again right now! Just define what your ‘end result’ is, not HOW it should happen, but WHAT (in a general way) you want to change or bring into your life. Go back to your New Year’s Statement of Intention that you began with and reclaim it or refine it.

What story are you telling yourself? I can’t do that, I can’t have that, it’s too hard, it must happen this way…

Change your story to be in alignment with what you want, NOT what you don’t. What is it that you’re willing to do differently in order to have the new reality you intend for yourself?

By now you know that if you don’t change something, you won’t get a different result, right? Right. Take a little time now and think about what’s going to change. Is it your thoughts and your mindset? Is it improving your financial situation? Is it creating a healthier body? Whatever it is, state it in the present moment or as having already happened and you’re so grateful and happy it is your new reality. Just keep that focus on moving ahead in order to get what you want, while also being present and finding reasons to be grateful for the current reality. Let’s talk about how you might effectively do that.

We all have doubts, and we all get distracted from time to time; however, by making it a daily practice to surround yourself with reminders of your goal you will be more successful in the long run. Maybe write down the goals on Post-it notes and place them strategically; set a reminder on your phone to spend 1 minute visualizing or thinking about your desired end result; and right before bed and just after waking up, speak or think words of gratitude and focus on the FEELING of gratitude.

It’s not about how much time you take to do this, because you really only need a few minutes, it’s not about how hard you have to work at it, although action steps are absolutely required, it’s about cultivating good feelings from the inside-out, rather than waiting for external circumstances to match your idea of what you consider ‘perfect’. When you progressively raise your frequency to be aligned with your general goal, you will find more and more synchronicity at play in your life. Stop wasting time on things that don’t matter; your time is precious. Protect it. Choose only what truly matters and focus on that.

While it can be difficult to begin releasing the resistance to your perceived current circumstances and letting go of the victim mindset, when you begin building your new framework to start feeling better about yourself and your situation, you will find more and more reasons to get in the flow and allow it to happen. Just keep in mind that you cannot dictate exactly HOW it must happen for you, because that severely limits your results. Keep it general and don’t attach to absolute specifics.

Example of what not to do: I will reach my perfect weight and ideal body by next weekend. Um…no. That is highly unlikely. Instead, state it like this: I am creating my healthier body and weight. Now, take the necessary action steps, such as choosing healthier meal options, exercising (not like a maniac) but in a way that feels good and is consistent, and loving yourself as you are and being proud of yourself as you make progress toward your goal.

If your goal is a new job because the one you have is sucking the life right out of you, rephrase it to something more in alignment with what you want, which is to have a fulfilling and prosperous career. Focus on how nice it is to be doing work you love that enables you to live a financially abundant and secure life, while actively seeking out other employment or entrepreneurial options. Don’t say that you must work for XYZ company making a million dollars per quarter, because although that is an option, it isn’t the only one, and there may be another job that is even better suited for you, but you just slammed the door shut on it.

When you think about it, that would be setting yourself up for failure and keep you miserable and that is not your goal, right? So, keep it light, keep it positive, and most importantly, keep focusing on the feelings you are aiming for when you reach your goal. You can apply this to any goal you set for yourself, such as the feeling of living in a healthy body, the feeling of having a fulfilling and prosperous career, or even the feeling of being more organized and efficient. It doesn’t matter what it is you’re striving for, providing you remain open to something even better by not attaching to a specific, rigid outcome and refusing to be happy unless it happens exactly like that.

Remember, you don’t have to stay stuck in your old story; are strong enough to put in the effort to become your optimal self and live a life you love. You have the ability to create the life you want to live, all you have to do is recognize there are infinite possibilities the universe has to offer, and by reimagining what’s possible and being open to wonderful surprises, you will have exactly what is perfect for you, perhaps even better than what you planned! #AlignedIntentions #MindseedsCoaching #MindseedMessage #ReimagineWhatsPossible
