A Playful Attitude

We each have the power to determine how we control the attitude we bring to our life. We can decide to introduce a happy, playful energy to our life and relationships, or we can choose to look at things too seriously and relegate playfulness as a childhood pastime that does not have a place in adulthood.

However, playfulness and lighthearted energy is essential to a happier, relaxed, and more balanced life. It’s important to take time to embrace our playful energy. While it is important to focus on work and responsibilities, we also need to engage in the things that bring us joy.

We nourish our mind, body, and spirit when we do something that sparks our creativity, encourages us to exercise our body, and inspires our mind. When we laugh with delight and enthusiasm, we are boosting our immune system, while at the same time releasing tension which makes us feel better physically and emotionally.

There often seems to be a playfulness to wise people, as if either their equanimity has as its source this playfulness or the playfulness flows from equanimity; and they can persuade other people who are in a state of agitation to calm down and smile.
