Tell the Truth
You know how it feels when someone lies to you. It’s not a good feeling, right?
People lie for all sorts of reasons – some big, some small. We’ve all done it. We also lie to ourselves all the time; but is this how we really want to go through life?
Strive to be a person of authenticity, sincerity, and integrity; don’t just say what you think someone wants to hear. Be someone that others can trust will tell the truth, because when you are honest and kind, you empower others to live from truth as well.
Being honest does not mean you just say whatever you want without regard for other people’s feelings, because being ‘brutally honest’ usually just means that someone will use it as an excuse to be brutal under the guise of being honest. You can find a way to tell the truth without causing unnecessary pain or discomfort.
It is not always easy to tell the truth, but when you do, you will respect yourself and others will also respect you.
Trust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships.
